No, in the new slice code you can use extended partitions as well.
Though it may not be very well tested..

however I think what we have here is some confusion..

I think the user has used linux before..
he seems to expect each filesystem to reside on a separate
Extended partition..
This is not how it's done under BSD unix......


You must first realise that FreeBSD further divides up 
the partition sd4 to sub partitions..

the extended parts are called slices..
sd0s1, sd0s2,sd0s3,sd0s4,sd0s5 etc..
these are further divided
to sd0s4a sd0s4b sd0s4c etc.
root is sd0s4a
and user will probaby be sd0s4e or f

why do you want to put it on s5?
