I have been following the FreeBSD newsgroups and the 'freebsd-announce' mailing list, but have not yet bought a machine, and am perplexed by the various compatibility issues. It would be interesting to meet some people in the area who have been through all this already. Since I live in Berkeley, and would have to take the train, though, it would take some effort to get there. Bill
