I'm not tech support, just a happy semi-knowledgable user. Never just edit /etc/password and /etc/master.password. These are just files convient to humans. The real file is pwd.db and you can't really read it. What you want to do is use vipw to delete the user, this will do the right thing for you. -- Paul T.
