https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D265712 Bug ID: 265712 Summary: devel/py-pip: python38 pip requires some additional symlinks in /usr/local/bin Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: python@FreeBSD.org Reporter: ports.maintainer@evilphi.com Assignee: python@FreeBSD.org Flags: maintainer-feedback?(python@FreeBSD.org) Running pip 22.2.2 as a regular user, pip crashes and dumps a traceback plus this error: FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/local/bin/pip= 3' This is what gets created by the Ports pkg: $ ls -l /usr/local/bin/pip* lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 7 Jun 9 19:14 /usr/local/bin/pip -> pip-3.8 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 949 Jun 9 19:14 /usr/local/bin/pip-3.8 Adding a pip3 -> pip-3.8 symlink solved that error, but then I got this err= or: FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/local/bin/pip= 3.8' Adding a pip3.8 -> pip-3.8 as well makes pip work properly again. The final result: $ ls -l /usr/local/bin/pip* lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 7 Jun 9 19:14 /usr/local/bin/pip -> pip-3.8 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 949 Jun 9 19:14 /usr/local/bin/pip-3.8 lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 7 Aug 8 03:17 /usr/local/bin/pip3 -> pip-3.8 lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 7 Aug 8 03:18 /usr/local/bin/pip3.8 -> pip-3.8 --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
