Rotary KVM switches are a bad idea for mice. They have a higher tendancy to blow out mice ports (and to a lesser extent keyboard ports) due to the high level of noise in the switch. You really need a good KVM switch to be able to do this. These tend to be expensive for good quality video when you need to run X on multiple heads.
