First off, I guess I should ask this question before cutting and pasting what I observed: When I say "cd /usr/doc" and type "make", what "should happen?" I was under the impression from reading some of the pages online and trying to go through the make files that the SGML would be turned into something--I guess HTML to start and RTF? I did successfully install the "docproj" port (months ago--and I've made sure everything is current). Here's excerpts of the output of the following commands cd /usr/doc make ===> en_US.ISO_8859-1 ===> en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles ===> en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide /usr/local/bin/jade -ioutput.html -V nochunks -c /usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/arti cles/committers-guide/../../../share/sgml/catalog -c /usr/local/share/sgml/docbo ok/dsssl/modular/catalog -c /usr/local/share/sgml/docbook/catalog -c /usr/local/ share/sgml/jade/catalog -d /usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide/ ../../../share/sgml/freebsd.dsl -t sgml /usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/commi tters-guide/article.sgml > article.html /usr/local/bin/jade:E: cannot open "/usr/local/share/sgml/docbook/catalog" (No s uch file or directory) /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide/../../.. /share/sgml/freebsd.dtd:54:63:W: cannot generate system identifier for public te xt "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook V3.1//EN" /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide/../../.. /share/sgml/freebsd.dtd:55:13:E: reference to entity "orig-docbook" for which no system identifier could be generated /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide/../../.. /share/sgml/freebsd.dtd:54:0: entity was defined here ... vast amounts of snippage .... /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide/article. sgml:7:0:E: DTD did not contain element declaration for document type name /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide/article. sgml:9:8:E: element "ARTICLE" undefined /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide/article. sgml:10:12:E: element "ARTHEADER" undefined /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/doc/en_US.ISO_8859-1/articles/committers-guide/article. sgml:11:10:E: element "TITLE" undefined ... vast amounts of snippage .... /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/local/share/sgml/docbook/dsssl/modular/html/../common/d bl1ru.dsl:163:29:E: general entity "Zcy" not defined and no default entity /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/local/share/sgml/docbook/dsssl/modular/html/../common/d bl1ru.dsl:167:36:E: general entity "Ocy" not defined and no default entity /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/local/share/sgml/docbook/dsssl/modular/html/../common/d btable.dsl:224:13:E: 2nd argument for primitive "ancestor" of wrong type: "#" not a singleton node list /usr/local/bin/jade:/usr/local/share/sgml/docbook/dsssl/modular/html/dblink.dsl: 201:1:E: XRef LinkEnd to missing ID 'ssh.guide' *** Error code 1 Stop.
