This is a known problem with the latest version of the port-config for ruby. Several people are working on a fix to it. If you want to compile ruby right now, you should be able to fix it by changing the following line in ruby18/Makefile: Where you see the line: .if ${OSVERSION} >= 502102 change it to be: .if ${OSVERSION} >= 502102 && ${ARCH} != "sparc64" We do expect to have the ruby-port fixed for real, one way or another, sometime in the next few days. Let me know if that doesn't work.
