Hmm, I just might take you up on that. :-)  The biggest obstacle is
that I have been working on the -stable branch, so the changes will
have to be made compatible with -current.  I know you added some
locking in -current, but I had the impression that it's fairly well
hidden from most nodes.  Is that right?
