But practical speaking you could try a random vendor 24 chip simm with a very good success chance. I wouldn't try to mix with a 18 chip simm. Theoreticaly even edo should work, but you don't get a speed gain and they are rare. There are some possible differences with refresh organisation, but this doesn't seem to matter on a PC164.
