Docs crew, can we get this FAQ'd, please? I'm writing this up nice and detailed this time for exactly this purpose. (If it's already FAQ'd, please pass me a URL and a pointy hat.) "I booted off my ATAPI CD-Rom, but the install program says no CD-Rom is found. Where did it go?" The usual cause of this problem is a misconfigured CD-Rom drive. Many PCs now ship with the CD-Rom as a secondary slave, with no secondary master. This is illegal according to the ATAPI specifications, but Windows lets you get away with it. Reconfigure your hardware so that the CD-Rom is on a controller with a master, either by adding a master device or making your CD-Rom the master. ==ml To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
