I have the ff. for FreeBSD 2.1.7-RELEASE.

	Hardware
		486DLC with 4mb RAM, 204MB (master) and 504MB (slave) 			SeaGate HD,
NE2000 compatible LAN card, 1.44MB 			and 1.2MB floppy drive plus Super
IDE, and VGA 			card and P/W monitor

	Software
		FreeBSD 2.1.7-RELEASE from 504MB SeaGate HD
		
I tried to install FreeBSD from 504mb SeaGate HD into 204 mb SeaGate HD 
using /stand/sysinstall and the installation process was OK.  When I
tried to install the pre-packed softwares it says "Unable to get
packages/INDEX file from selected media. ...".  I logged-in as root, run
/stand/sysinstall, select the Configure, select the Media, select the
DOS (Install from a DOS partition), then Packages, and the program
complains.
