After installing and rebooting the kernel recognizes the "Creative SB 16 PCI PNP" card - but dmesg includes the following lines: pcm0 at device 9.0 pci0 unable to map register space device_probe_and_attach: pcm0 attach returned 6 I did not try (this time) the ./MAKEDEV snd0 since the card was not initialized. >How-To-Repeat: Boot the computer. >Fix: I don't have a fix, but I plan to install another "Creative SB16 PCI PNP" card that was previously identified by FreeBSD 4.2 and Red Hat Linux as Ensonic 1571. I'll pass along the results of the switch. The reason for the quotes on the name of the sound cards is that they are visually identical and came from identical boxes, but FreeBsd and Linux identifies them as different cards. >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
