The laptop is a Dell Latitude D820 with an nVidia GeForce Go 7400 graphics card. Under the previous nvidia driver, it worked perfectly fine. With nvidia-driver-173.14.05, I'm see the same problem described here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=113929 Interestingly, this same driver works just fine on my desktop computer (Dell Precision 380 with an nVidia Quadro FX 1400). >How-To-Repeat: Upgrade certain nVidia equipted laptops to the latest nvidia-driver. >Fix: According to the link given above, the only fix is to downgrade the driver.
