I had a similar problem with a D-Link DWL-650 running -STABLE from early 
June.  It completely locks up the PCMCIA ports when inserted, to the point 
that other cards won't work either until the system is rebooted. 

After looking at the change logs, I decided the problem was probably 
introduced on (IIRC) April 22 when a lot of changes to the attach 
code were made.  I CVSUPed down to RELENG_4_3 and things work 
OK again (except that I can't get the D-Link card to use encryption).
