thanks for the prompt reply.  I was kind of overwhelmed the the newness,
coming from slackware and found that the problem was I had eis0
commented out which worked.  Now running into some other problems.

On another tip....once installing  one of the ports, do you need to keep
that port directory?  Same with compiling new kernels...once it's made
can I safely remove the sys folder?
