For what it's worth, I have an old Compaq Contura Aero -- a 486sx/25
laptop computer circa 1994.  Neither the onboard serial ports, nor any
PCMCIA modems, would work until I put -stable with the June 16th sio.c on
it.  Works great now.  I don't know what kind of mutant UARTs Compaq put
in the thing, but it's not specific to Iwill motherboards at any rate...
