I already subscribed to the list in the proper way. Concerning your question, ...you know in these days everything is as far as clicking with your mouse to a link on a hypertext doc. So I think I just followed the wrong link ( a mailto one) in the FreeBSD Handbook in html format: http://www.no.freebsd.org/handbook/current-stable.html were it recommends (section 18.2.2.3) people to subscribe to this list if intending to upgrade/follow the stable branch. The correct way of doing it is however properly described there (blame me) . But (there is always a "but" ....) I think to make the subscription procedure "fool-proof", most of the e-mail addresses in that and similar paragraphs shoud not be hhtp links but raw text. Only the majordomo@FreeBSD should be kept as a http "mailto" link in that page. In that way people won't even have the chance to "click" except to the right address: majordomo@FreeBSD.org I am sending a copy of this mail to doc@FreeBSD.org to see if they find this suggestion sensible. Just out of curiosity, what gave you the impression that you send the sub request to the list itself? ( curious, as we get a lot of these, and, I made the same mistake myself. If everyone is making the same mistake, it's not because WE are all stupid. :-) Blaine Lazaro Daniel Salem wrote: > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > The information contained in this message may be CONFIDENTIAL and is intended > for the addressee only.
