In my /etc/uucp/passwd file I have an entry similar to this: test:test When I then telnet port 540 on the uucp enabled mailserver and enter test as user and password, uucpd replies with 'Login incorrect.'. A similar entry appears in the /var/log/messages file: 'Dec 7 09:04:11 mailsrv uucpd[1857]: LOGIN FAILURE FROM uucpclient.mydomain.com' 'Dec 7 09:04:11 mailsrv uucpd[1857]: LOGIN FAILURE FROM uucpclient.mydomain.com, test' Why doesn't it work and how do I make it work?
