No, I'm using gcc47 for all ports including xorg-trunk tree, kib's 14.0 KMS patch ported by Mikhail Tsatsenko to 9-STABLE, and clang for base system. But recompiling as cause seemed more possible to me in your case. Indeed it looks strange, but I also had some problems with xorg-server which (accidentally) ceased after recompiling of all ports (obviously including all x-related). I'm not using clang for ports here, because there is at least one port which isn't clang ready at all.
