ok...after enabling icbs, making the devs according to the faq
(lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 9 Dec 28 12:52 X0R -> /dev/null
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 12 Dec 28 12:52 nfsd -> /dev/socksys
crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 2, 2 Dec 28 13:01 null
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 9 Dec 28 12:52 socksys -> /dev/null
crw-rw-rw- 1 root wheel 41, 1 Dec 28 12:49 spx
* please let me know if these look ok )
i rebooted and tried to run wpinstall while "su -m"ed as root. (Oh,
during the boot, icbs seemed to load ok with the coff and socksys
drivers recognized and installed). I then tried running ./wpinstall, but
encountered some errors. First, i was told that "/dev/ipx: no such
device or address" (which makes sense because this computer is not on
network) and finally that the install program could not open my display.
I tried "export DISPLAY=helios(what i changed the name of localhost
to...):0"; the ipx message disappeared, but i was told that the program
still could not open the display. I also tried "export
DISPLAY=helios:0.0 without luck).
If it matters, i am running freebsd 2.1.5. I would like to get this
program working, and would greatly appreciate any response.
