I download all the ports that I need using windows98 since I use netzero. Then I boot to freebsd and install it. I do a "mount_msdos /dev/wd0s4 /usr/msdos-e" to mount the fat16 drive. Then I go to /usr/ports/whatever to install some ports. The command I use is "make DISTDIR=/usr/msdos-e/freebsd/ports/distfiles install" . Now the weird thing that happens is that if I type in a directory that was _not_ there originally (i.e. make DISTDIR=/usr/msdos-e/freebsd/foobar install) that obviously ends the install with an error, but the foobar directory is created. Is this a bug ? When I boot back into windows, the directory is magically there. It wasn't there before. Using 3.2-release. I'm a newbie so be gentle. = ) ________________________________________________________ NetZero - We believe in a FREE Internet. Shouldn't you?
