With them, plotting different bs=2^n , n: 0~20 ... will steadily both drop time and iops, and increase bandwidth, tapering off to no further benefit, often notably at the page size 8k. Can also be seen with iozone, iostat, gstat, etc. 1M tended to be a handy streaming catch all.
