Yes, you're definitely confused.  What does Yahoo! have to do with the
issue?  The Ports Collection is part of FreeBSD.

I suspect you haven't seen all the images.  If you have, you might
like to clarify what you find irregular about them, and what kind of
regularity you would like to have.
