Same problem here on 10.2, but this is inside a Hyper-V VM on Windows 10. 
Gives the same error address of 0x4a40d0 but a different code: signal 10 (bus
error).

I also rent a dedicated server running 10.2 and they use KVM/QEMU.  Don't get
an error on starting X, but the virtual console screen displays random colours
and freezes; the VM shows as "paused" until manual intervention.
