I feel the need for speed.

I'm currently using an Adaptec AHA2940U controller, and it's been
working great, but since I have recently upgraded the rest of my
machine with very fast components, I'd like to upgrade the SCSI
subsystem too.

I'm going to buy an IBM Ultrastar 9LZX 9GB U2W SCSI drive, and
I've been looking at appropriate controllers. Since I do have
Ultra narrow devices, the 2930U2 looks attractive, but it's not
clear to me from Adaptec's web page what chipset it uses, so I
am unsure as to whether the current aic7xxx stuff will support
it (I am running 2.2.2 kernel).

The other alternative is the 2940U2W card, which I think _is_
supported, but I'm not sure.

Advice?

Thanks...
Michael
