Have you been turning off the system without > shutting down? I had this problem a while back. Never quite figured out what it was, but I got it on my account eventually, too. I found that if I deleted my account, then re-created it, it worked all of a sudden. You could try booting single user and doing that with root. You can also use su -m, which will stick with the shell you're presently using. Not a permanent solution, but it should let you get to root. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* | FreeBSD; the way computers were meant to be | * "The only reason I'm burning my candle at both ends, is * | that I haven't figured out how to light the middle yet."| * fullermd@futuresouth.com :-} MAtthew Fuller * | http://keystone.westminster.edu/~fullermd | *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
