You're trying to set the ip-address of the interface to "ssid". If you want to use DHCP and also want to set specific options to the interface (like the ssid / wep-key), you'll need to create a startup-script for the interface. In /etc/rc.conf you just say you want wi0 to get an address via DHCP : ifconfig_wi0="DHCP" And in a file named "/etc/start_if.wi0" : ifconfig wi0 ssid "the name of the network" wepmode on wepkey 0x1234567890 grtz, Daan
