In a very quick test with VirtualBox with 10.3-Release, ZFS, booting = with BIOS and autoboot_delay=3D0, it takes 15 seconds to display = =E2=80=9EBooting=E2=80=A6=E2=80=9C. With 11.0-R and BIOS it takes about 12. With 11.0-R and EFI enabled, it takes less than 3 seconds. On real hardware other factors will likely diminish the difference.
