I thought it would be neat to get a = remote X session up on my FreeBSD box along with the local X session I = was already running. Here is a summary of the commands I used: # export DISPLAY=3D0.1 # X :1 I then tried to run 4Dwm, the IRIX windows manager, on the X = session. I got an error saying it was not authorized to use the screen = and I realized I needed to xhost + it for the on display :1 Well, as soon as i typed the command xhost everything went crazy, = the only thing that actually works now is my previous X session, any = conrols (control+alt+F1-8) give me an error saying out of scan range... = Any ideas? -Mike Malone ------=_NextPart_000_002F_01C0FC9A.5749A060 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.00.2920.0" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2> I have a pretty = nice=20 FreeBSD box that I run X windows on, and an SGI running IRIX on the same = lan.
