I saw problems exactly like mine (watchdog timeout) on various mailing lists, but fixes were checked in to "solve the PR".. except they don't seem to have helped.. backing out to old versions of if_dc.c and if_dcreg.h haven't helped either. Just looking to see if it's just me still having troubles.
