A desktop I suppose would be a system that is used (everyday for me at least)
for your normal tasks on a computer be it writing perl /php /html /sh etc.
Browsing the web, irc, icq, playing music / videos and playing the odd game of
quake etc. I use FreeBSD very happily as my only OS on my laptop, a primary
desktop @ home & @ work.
