It's a freebie d/l, but I'm not sure if it will play under FBSD 3.1. What about Amanda? That's supplied on the FBSD CDs, as I understand. I have to say that when I get my installation sorted out, BRU PE will probably be my choice, but it can't hurt to check-out the other options, especially if it saves you $89!! I'm trying to find a tape backup package more robust than tar, better functionality than dump (can't span filesystems?), and maybe a better interface. BRU is out in elf for fbsd 3.1. I'm leaning towards this. Lonetar could be used under Linux emulation, but perusing the lists/newsgroup seems to indicate problems using Linux emulation in that the software appears to traverse the compat tree rather that the true bsd hierarchy. Seems to me a workaround wouldn't be difficult for this, tho'. BackupEDGE has a SCO release--has anyone tried this under SCO emulation? Any comments, suggestions, experiences etc would be greatly appreciated!
