Everything compiled okay, but I ran into a real nasty with JEdit 4.1pre9. When using it's "skinned" theme, allowing for user based look and feel, it glitches out badly. Mostly where there should be colors, it all goes black. Especially interesting when the menu items are in black text. Ack! There are also artifacts in the graphics that look like something just isn't processing through there correctly. When not in the "skinned" theme mode, JEdit is up and working properly otherwise, so far as I could tell. I didn't run through a lot of extensive testing, as my primary interest here was getting my editor working again. I went and altered the Makefile to point to patchset 7 and recompiled the jdk port. After doing this, JEdit's glitches go away and everything is back to normal. Since JEdit is pretty much the only reason I have a jdk on here at all, this was a serious show stopper for me. Something is goofy in that patch set. I wish I could be more specific about how to replicate the problem, but that's pretty much as far as my testing went. Running on 4-STABLE compiled a couple of days ago. Pretty much everything else in my installed ports is up to date as of last night. Later on, -- "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend.
