This argument is flawed, because it's based on the assumption that you
split lists to separate content. You don't - you split lists to get
messages you don't want to read out of peoples faces. There's not
enough traffic I don't want to read to warrant that.

Worse yet, I'm liable to subscribe to them both in either case. One
list will have things to investigate, and the other will have
potential competitors for those things, both of which are of
interest. That makes the split a negative one for me, as I'd then have
to subscribe to both lists.

It's been suggested the list be moderated. I second that, and
volunteer to be the moderator.
