It seems to me that we we're rapidly approching the day when we need to merge the relevent code from /etc/pccard_ether and /etc/rc.network(6). This will be especialy true with NEWCARD where "ifconfig -l" will include your PC Card/CardBus NIC which may result in it being configured via rc.network in some situations.
