Sorry for previous answer, it's early in the morning here and i've just get out of the bed :). For purpose test you can issue a pccardd -d from the command line, it will cause pccardd to start and not daemonize, useful for debugging. you can find syntax for lines in /etc/rc.conf just by searching the topics you need in /etc/defaults/rc.conf. /etc/rc.conf is an override for previous file.
