The principal responsibility of this position will be to maintain and improve the ISDS network and computing environment, which currently consists of about 50 Unix workstations (Unix-Tru64 on Compaq Alpha and FreeBSD on Intel) and servers, a few Windows NT machines, and several Cisco switches and networked postscript printers. Ongoing expansion includes terabyte RAID disk systems and half-gigaflop computing engines with gigabit ethernet connections for genomic research. The Senior Systems Manager will be a member of the Arts and Sciences Computing community, which shares ideas among peers and which encourages, promotes, and facilitates professional development. This full-time position is available beginning February 1, 2001, or as soon as possible thereafter, with a full and attractive fringe benefits package, and with continuing opportunities for career development and professional advancement.
