You should go back to them and say "Hey guys, look, this is a nice feature of our box and all that, but it's not like having FreeBSD do its own NAT in a more difficult and less general fashion is really going to buy us anything since we're not selling NAT - we're selling a complete solution which does that plus many OTHER things." They will then ask what their incentive for giving away extra pieces of the technology is, and why they would bother. Your job will be to convince them that making FreeBSD more out-of-the-box useful is necessary for attracting more companies to the party, more companies in turn providing more opportunities to convincing others to contribute technology which may indirectly enhance Whistle's own product. The task of imparting common sense to lawyers is, however, left as an exercise for the reader. :-) Jordan
