As far as I understand, it was introduced to the XFree-4.0.2 with Xthreads addition. Please correct me if I'm wrong. /usr/ports/x11/XFree86-4/files/patch-xthreads Backing out this patch breaks things, for example graphics/xine. The fact is, the Mesa gets built with threads, so the app has to be linked with -pthread. (BTW, have XFREE86_VERSION=4 in /etc/make.conf if you're using XF86 4.x) Since it's Mesa related (and it needs to be installed for GLU), all applications that depend on it fail, for example - /usr/ports/palm/pose :( Maxim, do you have any ideas about how to fix it? --Roman Shterenzon, UNIX System Administrator and Consultant [ Xpert UNIX Systems Ltd., Herzlia, Israel.
