I tried the trial-version of the OSS driver for the YMF724F 
(Yamaha DS-XG) but it is unusable for vat and real audio 
choked on it too. The tech support people at opensound weren't 
helpful.

For those intereseted in this card and want the datasheet, the

Is anyone working on a driver for this card?
