I'm not a guy, and those files may be confusing but most are not supplementary. Looks like you got more than you bargained for :-) Follow the installation instructions to the letter and you'll see that downloading all of the files is not a necessary step. If you don't like reading instructions, you're not going to like FreeBSD one little bit. > I just wanted to see what the problems were. Oh? Then why are you interested enough to waste our time? I think you wanted more than that but were disappointed when it became confusing. In fact, I think you saw yourself possibly contributing to the FreeBSD Project in time, and then all your dreams went up in smoke when you didn't find Square One. No wonder you're feeling angry! This mailing list is watched by over a thousand very busy and knowledgeable people... plus a few like me :-) If you have a question to present, show how you've tried to solve the problem yourself and you'll get all the help you could want. If you feel the need to let off steam, try not to do it in public. If you really must, then pop over to freebsd-newbies@freebsd.org where we don't answer questions but have the time to listen and if necessary forgive. A lot of newbies still remember microsoft and confusion. > Got to go.... I will check you home page in a few months to try > again. FREEBSD sounds encouraging and versatile. Good idea. Some of us are looking forward to seeing you again :-) Meanwhile a few issues like those you raised are mentioned in articles in this month's Daemon News (http://www.daemonnews.org/contents.html). You might find it interesting. Have a nice rest. -- Regards, -*Sue*- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
