Apart from not reading the syslog.conf(5) manual page? :-) For a start, there's no such facility as ``squid''. If you want all the messages from squid to go into /var/log/quid, you want something more like: !squid *.* /var/log/squid Also, the /var/log/squid file _must_ exist _before_ you HUP the syslogd process (or reboot). It can be empty, but it must exist. All this is explained in the syslog.conf(5) manual page, by the way. :-) Ciao, Sheldon.
