They are different programs, but I wouldn't say there is a
'clear' distinction.

I have both installed, and if I'm running mozilla, I cannot
launch firebird, or viceversa. Both programs see themselves
as 'mozilla' so when you launch either one of them, the
other will see an instance of 'mozilla' already running and
will refuse to launch.
