I was able to build/portmaster ftp/curl and ports that depended on ftp/curl. I don't know if there would be adverse consequences on other ports, but suspect CFLAGS instead of CPPFLAGS might have just been an error. I previously sent this to freebsd-bugs and Stephane D'Alu, but I had asked about this some time back on freebsd-ports. I originally inquired on this list about this problem on July 31, before searching the ports PR database. Thomas Mueller
