Sell it as a security feature. Point out that you allow, say, 25 character mail names and web addresses (for non-virtualhost customers) and alias them. Then tell them that their login name to your servers is ________ (or let them pick one) for security reasons to protect their account. And if they want it to be the same as their <9 character mail/web name -- let them. If it's available. -Richard
