I get the same problem at 800x600 and 640x480. I tried removing -hsync -vsync, but it is still there. When I run fvwm, I see sort of an expansion of whatever's on the left region (i.e. the little GoodStuff window seems to be made into horizontal lines). And things displayed in that region (i.e. the xclock from the system xinitrc), are not seen. What could be the problem?
