Ok.. I can get quake.x11 working just fine, but only if I run it with a
-nolan option.

Is anyone else experiencing these problems?  I think I remember people
talking about the linux/networking problems but I don't remember how to
fix it/if there is a fix.

I am running my own named on my machine, just for your info.
