Author: bapt Date: Mon Feb 8 09:54:15 2021 New Revision: 564691 URL: https://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/ports/564691 Log: Remove hal Hal has been introduced as part of the Gnome2 desktop and used in many desktop application as an abstraction on the hardware layer, it has been quickly deprecated, but alternatives took time to land in freebsd. In most cases alternatives are now in place or upstreams dropped entirely support for HAL. As a result it is time to retire HAL Deleted: head/sysutils/hal/ head/sysutils/hal-info/ Modified: head/MOVED head/sysutils/Makefile Modified: head/MOVED ============================================================================== --- head/MOVED Mon Feb 8 09:48:18 2021 (r564690) +++ head/MOVED Mon Feb 8 09:54:15 2021 (r564691) @@ -16150,3 +16150,5 @@ net/twitux||2021-02-06|Does not work with actually twi net-mgmt/ccnet-server||2021-02-07|Removed x11-toolkits/c++-gtk-utils||2021-02-07|Abandoned library not depended on textproc/xml-i18n-tools|textproc/intltool|2021-02-07|Has been replaced by intltools long ago +sysutils/hal||2021-02-08|Has been abandonned upstream long ago, replacement have now hit the ports tree almost everywhere +sysutils/hal-info||2021-02-08|Has no use without hal which has been removed Modified: head/sysutils/Makefile ============================================================================== --- head/sysutils/Makefile Mon Feb 8 09:48:18 2021 (r564690) +++ head/sysutils/Makefile Mon Feb 8 09:54:15 2021 (r564691) @@ -468,8 +468,6 @@ SUBDIR += gstopd SUBDIR += gstreamer1-plugins-cdio SUBDIR += gtk-imonc - SUBDIR += hal - SUBDIR += hal-info SUBDIR += hardlink SUBDIR += hare SUBDIR += hared
