Printed > reams of docs, source, searched and read everything on the search engine. innd works fine on FreeBSD ... it's just a very complicated piece of software and will take some getting used to (all the config files, etc). The docs on how to set it up are in the source code, and you have to read them carefully to be able to do it ... it's not the clearest doc I've ever read. What's your error?
