I have been playing with the system initialization files as a root because of PS2 mouse, speaker, and printer, modem..... Now I believe I have decent progress in those matters: But I have a couple of problems as a normal user: First: I can not run the x-window as a regular user? I have installed XFree86.3.1.1 recently. The error message is TRANS(SocketUNIXConnect) () can't connect: errno = 13 . giving up. xinit: Interrupted system call (errno 4): unable to connect to X server xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error. . Second: I can not use the finger command??? [/usr/users/uh] /usr/bin/finger finger: Permission denied I did check the permission of finger & utmp & lastlog. The file permission is as follows, -rw-rw-r-- 1 root wheel 8428 Apr 22 12:22 /var/log/lastlog -r-xr-xr-x 1 bin bin 20480 Nov 22 12:21 /usr/bin/finger -rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 504 Apr 22 12:22 /var/run/utmp If you have any clue, would you please let me know?
